Ciaran Hayden

Based in Wicklow
Dublin, Wicklow, Wexford, Meath

Ciarán Hayden is a fully qualified national tour guide based in Dublin and Wicklow, with a passion for bringing Ireland’s rich past and vibrant culture to life. A graduate of the Bord Fáilte National Tour Guide programme at the Portobello Institute in Dublin, Ciarán has spent the past three years guiding visitors through the stories, streets, and flavours that define the region. Specialising in modern Irish history and the elegance of Georgian Dublin, Ciarán blends deep historical knowledge with a natural gift for storytelling. His tours explore everything from cultural landmarks and hidden corners to the best of local food and traditional pubs, offering guests an authentic and immersive experience. He also brings a particular depth of insight into Huguenot Ireland, tracing the influence of refugee communities such as the La Touche family, whose Delgany branch played a significant role in the social and economic development of Wicklow. By weaving these narratives into the broader story of Ireland, Ciarán highlights the lasting legacy of migration, enterprise, and identity. His storytelling further extends to Ireland’s long and complex struggle for independence, from the uprising of 1798 through the revolutionary period of the early 20th century and into the present day. With a balanced and engaging approach, he helps visitors understand the people, events, and ideas that shaped the nation. Before becoming a guide, Ciarán served for 28 years as a firefighter — a career that shaped his calm presence, sharp insight, and ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Today, he brings that same dedication and energy to every tour, ensuring each group leaves with a deeper understanding of Ireland and a few great stories to tell.

I give photography classes either indoors or whilst walking the Cliffs of Doon/Dooneen or Ballybunion Strand. Get the most out of your phones camera & learn how to enjoy Zen Mindfullness walking photography. Mo Chuisle Irish Wolfhound adores making new friends. Throw apples for her and watch her zoom after them, toss them into the air, catch them as they fall and munch them. Ice cream cones last less then 3 seconds with her. Gulp. I have decades of experience as a Professional Photographer. Let me teach you how to read and understand light quality, mobile phone camera technology and take sharper better images. Ballybunion is Irelands premier seaside resort. Golden fine beaches at the mouth of the river Shannon. Checkout > Irish Wolfhound Ballybunion > on YouTube to see why Mo Chuisle Irish Wolfhound gets over a million views per year on the Internet. Nick named > Platinum blonde beach bum baby girl or Big nose for short. Mobile phone 085 838 0709. Email Karlwhitekerry@gmail.com. Address 1 Ferndale Sandhill Road Ballybunion Co Kerry V31HX74. 200 meters from the beach in the heart of town. Irish wolfhounds are a direct living connection to our ancient Celtic heritage and the oldest dog breed in Ireland and the UK. The tallest dog breed in the world. I also do an interesting history of photography class and of Irish History. Stronger, faster and more agile than a Wild Wolf, the Irish Wolfhound, the dog of Kings and the king of all dogs!

Hi, my name is Tony and as someone living on the Dingle Peninsula with involvement and employment in the tourism industry for the past 20 years, I decided to start a traditional pub tour in Dingle Town to showcase the amazing pubs we have on our doorstep to our visitors, it is the only tour of its kind. We have had a successful first year with over 30 tours and 170 people but now the focus is to grow the tour bigger and better for guests to Dingle in 2026 with more singing, storytelling, music, traditional Irish pub snacks and maybe even a bit of dancing who knows :) /

I was born in Annascaul on the Dingle peninsula on a dairy farm , one of 8 children. I grew up on the Dingle Peninsula then moved between the cities of Limerick, Dublin and Cork for work after College. ( I have an honours degree in Economics and Sociology from UCC). I have worked in Community development , I.T. , Accounting over my career. I then moved home to Dingle and I now have 11 years of experience as a driver guide. I have crewed and guided on the Blasket island ferry and driven private Golf and Heritage tours nationally on multiday tours. My favorite parts of the job is showing our quirky neolithic monuments that are scattered everywhere in the country to visitors.....showing them how to see them in the landscape and understand what are they seeing as they drive along. Also bringing families to their last known address / townland before their families emigrated ( usually in the 19th C ) to North America. We often connect with living relatives due to speaking to locals and good fortune ☘️🍀 I also do day tours from Killarney and Dingle...

I've lived in Dublin city centre and suburbs all my life, and the history of Dublin and it's stories are endlessly surprising, even to someone who lives here. Since I've started as a tour guide I've found it to be a lot of fun, and very rewarding to see visitors really engage with the real Dublin! These are the streets of James Joyce, Oscar Wilde, Sinead O'Connor, Arthur Guinness (as well as Henry V111 and a couple of Cromwells), . . I take little detours when asked (which is a LOT), and I like to make sure that my clients who book onto my tours have the best of times! As a professional musician and producer I've also got some unusual insights into some of the secrets of this world, with the ocassional behind the scenes tale or two. I also have a very special relationship with Dublin's Ha'Penny Bridge, as I'm personally responsible for overseeing the conversion of some of the Bridge's original wooden decking by Fender Guitars California into beautiful Stratocasters and Telecasters! Dublin is an old city, but it's not a museum, it's also a brand new city - this is the same throughout all of Ireland - and I enjoy showing visitors how these worlds live side by side, so you can have fun while being amazed at the same time!
